iso 27001 security measures at datagraphic

Throughout this website we talk a lot about ISO 27001, and that’s because we believe in its importance and are proud to be one of less than a hundred security printers worldwide to hold the Standard. But, what is it and why do you need to know about it?

ISO 27001, titled "Information Security Management - Specification with Guidance for Use", is a specification for the management of Information Security. It addresses the security of information in whatever form it is held from printed or electronically stored, to that transmitted by post or email, shown on films, or spoken in conversation. Whatever form the information takes, or means by which it is shared or stored, ISO 27001 helps an organisation ensure it is always appropriately protected, in terms of:

  • confidentiality - ensuring that access to information is appropriately authorised
  • integrity - safeguarding the accuracy and completeness of information and processing methods
  • availability - ensuring that authorised users have access to information when they need it

The basic objective of the Standard is to help establish and maintain an effective information management system, using a continual improvement approach. It implements OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) principles, governing security of information and network systems.
