MAILCARE™ SERVICE

The Datagraphic MailCare™ equipment is used to read and record personalised security documents before mailing. The system was custom built to meet the high demands of the Banks and other financial institutions to verify that mailed documents such as cheques matched the original data. The equipment is fitted with high-speed cameras and software that utilises the latest “2-D” (two dimensional) Barcode technology and OCR.

The Mailcare™ system is used to check all secure documents before mailing. The system creates audit files of security documents, in particular cheques. A small “2-D” barcode is printed in the address area of the document during laser personalisation. The unique barcode is read into the system through the window of the envelope. A text file is automatically created and compared to the original file supplied by the customer. Any discrepancies or missing documents are established and corrected before mailing.

The alpha-numeric 2-D barcode can contain up to 64 characters and is designed to include the cheque number, account number, mailsort code, job number and even the cheque value printed if required. The system is also used to check and sort documents into mailsort order. Companies producing personalised security documents can no longer rely on manual checking to ensure that what is mailed is the same as the data received.

The Mailcare™ system ensures that no document is missing, duplicated or posted to the wrong person.
Datagraphic offer a unique security print trade service from “data to post” that includes the traditional litho production of cheques and other security documents as well as laser infilling, finishing, fulfilment and mailing.
